About me:

My name is Raquel Wright-Mair, I am a passionate yoga instructor (E-RYT 200 & RYT 500) focused on accessibility, equity, and inclusion in yoga. My approach to teaching yoga on the mat honors that the ‘power within’ will be different for each individual. My classes are accessible and affirming to people at all stages in their yoga journey/practice.

I strive to disrupt the everyday expectation of doing/being more, and help others to cultivate an approach to their practice (and life) that explores self-discovery, reclaims inner strength, and prioritizes balance and well-being.

The spiritual practice of yoga has been an anchor in my life and has taught me valuable lessons that I enjoy sharing with others. I prioritize facilitating a yoga practice that empowers students, welcomes them, allows them to find inner peace, connection, and grounding on and off the mat. I am certified as a Trauma Informed Yoga instructor and specialize in Vinyasa (beginners—advanced), Yin, & Yoga Nidra. I also work with athletes to develop breathwork and mindfulness practices, reduce injury, improve recovery, increase flexibility, and decrease stress.

I am also an Associate Professor of Higher Education, and my research focuses on advancing equity, inclusion, and social justice across higher education institutions. My passion for teaching transcends the classroom and my love for well-being and yoga has taken me on a path for the last decade that has allowed me to focus on integrating mind, body, and heart—allowing me to effectively lead, support, and empower others to rediscover themselves, be present, pause, and lead a purposeful life through movement, meditation, and breathwork.

I look forward to staying connected! I hope you stay grounded in your purpose, extend grace and compassion to yourself, and never forget to come back to your breath!
